Multi-color scarf

I'm back. I'm sorry I've been gone for so long, but I doubt anyone has been waiting with baited breath for this post. I've been too busy with school and having too much fun crocheting!
Anyway, this scarf was made with STITCH NATION FULL O' SHEEP YARN-HONEYCOMB,STITCH NATION FULL O' SHEEP YARN-PLUMMYSTITCH NATION FULL O' SHEEP YARN-PASSIONFRUITSTITCH NATION FULL O' SHEEP YARN-PEONY, and every other color in the full o' sheep line excluding black. Passionfruit and honeycomb are the two colors featured on the trim. I designed the scarf myself, but the trim pattern was from Around the Corner Crochet Borders: 150 Colorful, Creative Edging Designs with Charts and Instructions for Turning the Corner Perfectly Every Time. This book is great because it shows you so many different trims that can transform a plan design, including knit, crochet, and fabric, into a work of art.

Fish Birthday Card

Hello!
This is a card that I made with my cricut machine and the Cricut Cartridge, Create-A-Critter. This cartridge is my favorite. It has so many cute animals on it. I used my  Score Board and Envelope Tool Martha Stewart  to make the envelope. I love being able to make envelopes to match whatever card I make.

Strawberry Cake Amigurumi

Cutiepie is currently reading: Cool Beans: A Maya Davis Novel (Maya Davis Series)
This is a cake I made with a pattern from Yummi 'Gurumi: Over 60 Gourmet Crochet Treats to Make. This book some unique food amigurumi designs that are realistic, instead of cute and stylized like some. It features veggies, a bread and cheese spread, a sandwich, sushi, more asian food, and some cakes, including a mini birthday cake. I made this cake larger than in the book with fatter yarn and a larger crochet hook. I love the way it turned out. I was a little nervous about how it would turn out because of my modifications, but It looks adorable. I used all stitch nation yarn including: STITCH NATION FULL O' SHEEP YARN-LITTLE LAMB for the cream, STITCH NATION ALPACA LOVE YARN-ESPRESSO BEAN for the cake, STITCH NATION FULL O' SHEEP YARN-THYME for the leaves,Stitch Nation Bamboo Ewe Yarn Snapdragon T101-5705, 3 Item(s)/Order for the pink filling and strawberry.

Friday Book Review

This is something I hope to make a weekly addition to my blog. This week I will be reviewing:

This is a great book about a Christian girl who is an amateur matchmaker and works at a photography studio owned by her friend. All of the books in this series are hysterical. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an upbeat, realistic, Christian chick lit book.

Amigurumi Octopus

I made this octopus with a pattern from Tiny Yarn Animals by Tamie Snow. All of her patterns are so easy to follow and so cute! I used full o' sheep Stitch Nation Yarn (my fave) in plummy. The photo on the website is true to life, but the sheen of the yarn caused it come out lighter in my photo.

I got my Crochet Today Magazine and I cannot wait to make this adorable owl bookbag! I think it will make a great tote bag. Plus, Ana Paula Rimoli is one of my favorite designers.

Pomp-a-doodle Purse

This is a purse that I whipped together with pomp-a-doodle yarn by red heart. I was a little wary of using this yarn because I thought it would be a pain in the neck to crochet with, but it was a piece of cake! Even when I made a mistake, the yarn pulled right out. The key is to crochet with the yarn between the pom-poms. I added sides and a strap with red heart yarn in navy. I can't wait to use it this fall.
